I was born into a family that had a real work ethic! I learned by doing! From my grandfather, Elmer, to my dad, Paul, and my uncle Art, we were a close-knit family that never stopped working!
Our family always worked in farming and lawn care. It seemed like we were always working in the soil. Over time, sod became our specialty. As a teenager, I worked in the sod fields during the day, and played baseball in the evenings. After high school, I attended Penn State to learn horticulture and nursery management. After I graduated, I started the landscaping and shrub addition to the business, and of course, I am still at it! Four years ago, I had a revelation. The earth is a living, breathing organism, so why are we destroying it? We spray chemical fertilizers, weed killers, and pesticides on everything; lawns, landscape plants, our fruits and vegetables. Then we wonder why our kids and pets are sick, the rivers and bays are dead-zones, and our ground water is polluted. This is just wrong! Because of this revelation, I have committed the rest of my life to being an advocate for a natural, organic approach to landscaping. It’s not about me, it’s not about you and your lawn, it’s not about making money, it’s about the earth. It’s about being a good steward, doing no harm, and being concerned about the other person downstream. It’s about leaving this earth a better place for the next generation. Our business will only carry true organic products and does not promote chemicals. I am committed to doing what’s right for people and God's creation. I am here to help anyone who is interested in making the transition to a more responsible, safer way of landscape property management. |
