Blueberry Bushes - Northern Highbush and Half-High Varieties     $34.95 

 

Northern Highbush (Vaccinium corymbosum) are the most widely planted blueberries.
They produce berries that range in size from 1/4" to 1" diameter and in color from almost black to light powder blue.

'Toro' -
Easy to pick berries hang like grapes from bush
Outstanding ornamental qualities
Grows 4 to 6 feet tall

roduces large berries that are ready for harvest mid-season
Bberries have a mildly sweet flavor
Flowers turn from hot pink to bright white in spring
Deep green foliage turns crimson red in fall

'Duke' -
Most widely planted early ripening northern variety
A heavy, consistent producer of high quality berries
Blooms late, but ripens early
Grows 4 to 6 feet tall
Produces medium to large berries that are savory sweet in flavor
Orange, yellow fall color 

Half-High Bluberries (Vaccinium corymbosum x V. angustifolium) are crosses between Northern Highbush and wild Lowbush varieties.  Their fruit yield is generally lower than Highbush varieties, but the berry quality is very good and the berries have a "wild" flavor.

'Northblue' -
A proven producer of quality fruit in cold climates
Grows 3 to 4 feet high
Produces medium berries that are ready for harvest mid-season
Berries have a juicy, wild flavor and are excellent for baking
Red, burgundy fall color

'Chippewa' -
Largest fruit of all Half-High varieties
Excellent for container planting
Grows 3 to 4 feet tall
Produces medium to large fruit ready to harvest mid-season
Berries have a smooth, sweet flavor
Red fall color
